Overview

Polsen’s SP-260 2×6 Stereo Distribution Switcher routes line-level audio signals from two sources, like a mixing board or playback device, to six pairs of stereo amps, powered speakers, or headphone amplifiers. Send the audio from a DVD player or home theater unit to every room in your home, restaurant, or office. Use the SP-260 to create six zones, and select between two stereo input channels to route audio to each zone. Each channel on the SP-260 has a dedicated volume control, so you can use the SP-260 to set a different volume in every zone. The SP-260 is ideal for offices and homes where different audio programs play in different rooms. It’s also a great solution for showrooms that demonstrate multiple pairs of speakers, or for large spaces that need more than two speakers spread throughout the area. The unit is equipped with balanced XLR inputs and outputs that assure an audio signal that’s free of distortion from interference, even with long cable runs. For control over audio quality, the SP-260 has level indicators that display signal strength for all input and output channels.

Features

Two Inputs, Six Outputs

The SP-260 features inputs for two audio sources like a mixing board or a DVD player and allows you to send those signals to six pairs of powered speakers or stereo amplifiers. Create the audio zones you need for a conference, office, home, or restaurant and send the preferred audio signal to each zone.

XLR Ins and Outs

When you’re running cables between audio devices, a balanced signal is the way to go. Balanced XLR inputs and outputs assure you of a clean audio signal free of interference, even if your cables run past other electrical devices or wiring.

Volume Control

The SP-260 lets you control the volume of the input signals and the output volume for each zone. For example, you can keep the output level high for a dance floor, and a lower level for the restaurant, so diners can comfortably converse. Each channel has an LED meter so you can push the maximum volume and avoid clipping.

Mono and Stereo Modes

Each channel has a stereo/mono selector. Stereo mode delivers stereo tracks to the selected zones. Use the mono mode, which sums the two channels and outputs a mono signal, to monitor audio tracks that were recorded on separate channels, like dialogue. Mono mode is also extremely useful for piping sound to large areas that need more than two speakers, like a theater or meeting area. Instead of hearing half of a stereo mix from each speaker, everyone will hear the summed sound from all speakers.

Rack Mountable

The SP-260 has integrated rack ears that are compatible with most 19-inch equipment racks. It’s mobile and ready to travel to conventions and meetings where audio zones need to be set up quickly and efficiently. Its rugged steel construction makes the SP-260 road ready and able to stand up to travel and constant use.
